Sales packing
Flower kale is sold in (vol. 11) pot with bar codes and care info in Danish
and English (see text).
The main parts of the plants are packed in Toftlys
strong special made vacuum tray with 15 plants per tray. Other types of packing
are available depending on your special request.
Flower kales are often sold
in mix trays with 3 or 5 different types per tray.
Special products
More intense colours and gloss can be obtained by Toftlys special gloss
oil. Treated plants have a longer keeping quality especially if the plants
have to have a long transport.
For Halloween we produce "Painted cabbage",
that is kale painted in different colours. Often in orange, blue and purple
shades. Painted cabbage is delivered in mix trays with 3 different colours
per tray. For a smaller additional charge we are also able to deliver 5 different
colours per tray.
In November and December we paint the cabbage in the Christmas
colours red, green, blue, purple, gold, silver and bronze.
Description
Flower kale is a one-year bedding plant, which is superior for planting
out in pitchers, flower boxes and beds from midsummer and into autumn.
The
plants have to be watered regularly but there is no need for fertilization.
Flower kales stand some frost and will therefore be decorative through the
winter.
The leaf colour of flower kale is dependent of the temperature. A
low temperature gives a more intense colour, which, is one of the reasons
for its popularity in the autumn assortment.
There are many different types
of flower kale. Normally they are divided into three main groups: Plain,
curly and laciniated leaves. The main colours are white, red, pink and purple.
